Thunder Dog

Thunder Dog by Michael Hingson with Susy Flory
I chose this book as I love animals. I was only ten when this tragedy occurred so I don’t really remember much about what happened that day. It’s hard to believe it was 10 years ago though.
This book is based around Michael Hingson and his dog Roselle and their descent from the 78th floor of the World Trade Center. There were times throughout this book that the graphic detail of the attacks upset me. In this book Michael also discusses the reasons behind being blind and things throughout his life that helped him on his way out of the World Trade Centre. Even though in parts I found this tended to drag out the story more than necessary.

Roselle is an amazing guide dog and managed to stay calm throughout her ordeal. I even found his sense of humour endearing and loved his determination. I would recommend this book to others.
